We have lots of new events going on at A One-Room Schoolhouse. We are excited to announce our summer Parent Night and Open House schedule. Parent Nights and Open Houses will be for all parents considering homeschool for the 2020-2021 school year, not just those interested in hybrid homeschooling with A One-Room Schoolhouse.

Parent Night: Homeschool 101

A One-Room Schoolhouse would like to invite all parents considering homeschooling for the 2020-2021 school year to our first-ever Parent Night: Homeschool 101! At this event, you will receive ALL the guidance and information you need to become a homeschool family in Pennsylvania.

What you will get:

• New to homeschool checklist
• Guidelines on how and when to start homeschooling
• Example affidavit forms to submit to your local school district
• Example objectives to submit to your local school district
• Guidance on how to submit your paperwork to your local school district
• Pre-organized portfolio binder with all the necessary tabs and logs included
• Curriculum consultation
• Information on scheduling your end-of-year portfolio evaluation and any needed testing
• Online resources and support

A One-Room Schoolhouse is offering this event as a service to the community. This evening’s discussion will be lead by, Genevieve Peterson, Education Director of A One-Room Schoolhouse.

We are in no way giving legal advice, but merely offering mentoring and resources during a confusing and overwhelming time. This is a no-cost event, but we do ask that you consider making a donation to A One-Room Schoolhouse to cover the cost of the portfolio binder and its contents.

If you would like multiple portfolio binders you MUST indicate this on your RSVP (see below). Please consider this extra cost when making your donation.

* RSVP: Participants must RSVP to this Facebook event to be admitted the night of the event. Space is limited.

Open House

Additionally, we would like to announce our summer Open House schedule! These nights are family events where your entire family can come and see A One-Room Schoolhouse.

What to expect at Open House night:

• Come and go any time during the event
• Meet and greet A One-Room Schoolhouse staff and board of directors
• See the schoolhouse space
• Ask personal questions
• Complete registration paperwork
• Do placement testing
• Get a curriculum ordering list
• Eat light refreshments

* Please RSVP to this Facebook event if you can. Last-minute RSVP’s will be accommodated for Open House nights.
