Introducing Sara Sunderlin
Sara Sunderlin is an experienced educator who has taught various grades, including First Grade, Kindergarten, Preschool, and Fourth Grade, at Hillcrest Christian Academy and Wilson Christian Academy (now Cornerstone Christian Academy). She began homeschooling her own children in 2013 and became highly involved in local homeschooling co-ops, including the South Hills Homeschool Co-op. She has also taught through Vipkid, Outschool, and Home Away from Homeschool, and even started her own tutoring company. Sara’s educational background includes a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development from Westminster College, obtained in 2005.
Sara has had a passion for teaching since she was a young child. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher, and this dream has guided her throughout her life and career. Her dedication to education is evident in her diverse teaching experiences and her commitment to homeschooling her own children.
Teaching at A One-Room Schoolhouse
At A One-Room Schoolhouse, Sara teaches middle-level students in grades 3-7. Her experience across multiple grade levels allows her to bring a unique perspective to her classroom, tailoring her teaching to meet the varied needs of her students.

Goals and Aspirations for the Upcoming School Year
Sara’s primary goal for the upcoming school year is to cultivate a happy and thriving classroom atmosphere. She hopes that all students will progress to the best of their abilities, feeling supported and encouraged every step of the way.
Sara is particularly excited about the Science Fair and Christmas School. These events provide wonderful opportunities for students to showcase their learning, creativity, and enthusiasm in a fun and engaging way.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of teaching, Sara enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and crafting with her kids. Her hobbies reflect her nurturing personality and her love for creating engaging and meaningful experiences, both in and out of the classroom.To stay motivated and inspired, Sara turns to books and values rest and family time. She believes that staying refreshed and recharged is essential for maintaining passion and energy in the classroom.
